Pre-Cruise Checklist

When planning your cruise, it’s easy to overlook the things you need to take care of before setting sail—like shopping! Many of us (me included) forget to budget for pre-cruise essentials. From clothes and luggage to accessories like binoculars, these items can add up and are an important part of your vacation costs.

An Alaska cruise is a bucket-list adventure, so proper planning is a must to make the most of it. Don’t make the same mistakes I did—like forgetting essentials such as bug repellent (a must-have if you plan on hiking!).

Cruise Itinerary Checklist

Once your cruise is booked and your shopping is done, it’s time to focus on your cruise itinerary. Will you book exciting shore excursions, explore the port on your own, or stay onboard and take advantage of the ship during port days?

Having a clear plan helps you make the most of your trip and avoid missing out on must-do activities.

To help you stay organized, I’ve created a detailed checklist. It includes:

  • A travel itinerary to keep track of all your flight and cruise information.

  • A cruise itinerary to fill in your planned activities and excursions.

  • A blank daily planner to jot down must-see spots and ideas for your cruise days.

Stay prepared and make this your best cruise yet!

Caribbean Packing List

A Caribbean cruise is the most popular cruise, and if this is your first time planning your Caribbean cruise, I've got you covered with some helpful tips to get fully prepared.

Be sure to pack comfortable shoes, while we definitely want to pack our flip flops or sandals, comfortable walking shoes will come in handy for walking around the cruise port. One thing I didn't think of to pack for my upcoming Caribbean cruise was a light jacket. On occasion, the weather can be a little chilly in the evening walking around the upper decks of the cruise ship, even in the summer months.
