St. Thomas Paradise Point
We visited St. Thomas Paradise Point when we ported in St. Thomas on the Carnival Celebration, and we wanted to explore the beautiful scenery without booking an excursion, so we bought a ticket and took the Skyride to Paradise Point.
But was it worth it?
Things to know before you go.
The Skyride is just a short walk from the boat. Approximately 3 miles with a 10-minute walk. You can get a taxi from the port area if you don't want to walk.
The Skyride opens at 9:00 am.
Cost $24.95 (adult) and $16.95 (child) as of May 2023
Some cruise lines offer a discounted rate if you book the tickets through them.
7-minute tram ride to the top of Paradise Point
They will operate rain or shine but may shut down if winds are too strong.
Paradise Point is approximately 700 ft above the town

3 Things You Can Do at Paradise Point
1. Enjoy the Beautiful Scenery from the Skywalk.
As soon as you reach the top, you are immediately engulfed in the beautiful views and scenery all around. Paradise Point is a couple stories high, and the gondola will drop you off at the highest point. You can see the views from anywhere at Paradise Point or walk out on the skywalk and get some breathtaking unobstructed views of St. Thomas.
The Skywalk, is it scary?
Paradise Point is approximately 700ft above the town. The Skyride has been around since 1981 and is a top scenic attraction for viewing the St. Thomas Virgin Islands. However, you might not want to walk out on the skywalk.
2. Restaurants and Bar Area
Paradise Point offers one restaurant, Taste, and bar area to enjoy. At Taste, you can enjoy delicious Caribbean food and their signature drink, the Bushwacker. Along with their delicious food and drinks, you can sit and enjoy the beautiful views of St. Thomas.
The Bushwacker is a frozen coffee-flavored drink with rum and Kahlo. St. Thomas is known for their Bushwackers, as the famous drink was invented in St. Thomas in 1975.
3. Souvenirs and Shops
Paradise Point has several shops where you can purchase souvenirs from St. Thomas or buy that cute Caribbean handbag or dress.
Is it Worth It?
For many people, Paradise Point is worth it, as it is the top scenic attraction in St. Thomas. However, on average, people stay anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, usually enough time to take a few pics, eat lunch, and grab a drink.
The Skyride is open from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, and you can stay as long as you would like; just be sure you have enough time to get back to the ship before departure.
